Kildimo/Pallaskenry Club Notes

March 23, 2015

Intermediate Hurlers
Richie Bennis had his first competitive match in charge of the intermediate hurlers at the weekend in the Intermediate Hurling League. Confidence buoyed after a good showing in a challenge match against Tipperary's Ballinahinch where we ran out four-point winners on a scoreline of 0-23 to 1-16; the form continued into this league fixture. It was a fine performance by our hurlers in their first outing of the year and we ran out comfortable victors in the end, scoring 1-19 to Feoghanagh/Castlemahon's 0-13. It was certainly a great start to the year and hopefully it is a sign of things to come.

Services to Sport Awards
It has recently been announced that our very own Tom O'Connell was announced as a winner of a Services to Sport Awards, in association with Limerick Sports Partnership. Tom does a lot of work on the ground within the club and has been hugely involved in training underage teams over the past 20 years. He must receive huge credit for a number of the fine young talents that have risen up through the ranks in recent seasons, and continue to do so. It is fantastic to see Tom's work recognised at a regional level and it is a great honour for Tom and for the club. The ceremony takes place this weekend on Saturday 28th of March in the Strand Hotel at 7.30pm. For those who would like to attend the event and support Tom, tickets are €30 which includes a three-course meal and attendance at the ceremony itself. For those interested, tickets can be purchased from the Limerick Sports Partnership Office at 061-333600.

U-21 Hurlers
Unfortunately, our U-21 hurlers fell to Mungret in the U-21 Hurling Championship city final. It was a disappointing result, as we had previously drawn with Mungret in the league stage and our players were hoping to go one better. However, our players must be credited for reaching the final and congratulations must be given to Mungret on their victory.

Pallaskenry GAA Registration
Anybody who wishes to register themselves or their child must be registered by the 31st March, so please contact Pat Culloo or any committee member urgently.
