U-21 hurlers

The U-21 hurlers recorded their second Premier Hurling Championship victory after defeating Kilmallock by 2-18 to 0-13 in Rathkeale.

Despite the strong breeze, Patrickswell dominated their opponents from the first whistle.   The 'Well racked up five unanswered points before Kilmallock registered their first point.  Jamie Dillon's goal after twenty minutes made the scoreline an emphatic 1-9 to 0-1.  After this goal, Kilmallock steadied themselves and Patrickswell reached half time with a narrower 1-13 to 0-3 advantage.

The second half was a closer encounter.  Kilmallock began to outpoint the 'Well and reduced the large deficit.  The margin had been trimmed to 1-18 to 0-13 when Paul O'Brien fired a late goal to cap a superb 2-18 to 0-13 win.  Congratulations to the players and management.

The next fixture is against Adare on Tuesday March 3 in Rathkeale at 7.30pm.
