March 02, 2015The Galbally Intermediate footballers began the 2015 season with a challenge game against Hospital/Herbertstown recently. The team was Ger Ryan, Niall Kearney, Aidan Sheehan, Eoin Halligan, Declan Barry, Cathal Shanahan, Dave Cussen, Sean Kearney, Pa O'Donnell, Ger Quinlan, Vinny O'Connell, Nathan Byrnes, Jamie Morrissey, Gary McCarthy, Thomas Cussen. Subs: Kevin Denihan, Jack Donovan. Training continues on Wednesday and Friday nights at 7.30pm for all players from minor upwards. The County League will commence with a fixture against Pallasgreen in Galbally on Sunday next. Throw-in time to be confirmed. The Under 16 team played Emly in a challenge game. The team was Keane Baker, Michael O'Dwyer, Fionn Flanagan, Michael Fitzgibbon, Cathal Flynn, James Cummins, Conor O'Mahony, Roibeard Donovan, Eoin Sheehan, Mark Quinlan, Ryan Tobin, Darragh Bourke, Callum Sheehan, Joseph Johnston, Ben Coughlan.
The Family Fun event and night at the Dogs has been confirmed for Limerick Greyhound Track on Saturday Night 13th June. Kiddies activities such as face painting will take place on the night. It is hoped to run a themed colouring competition in the local schools in relation to this event. Tickets will be on sale shortly and are priced at €10 per adult and €20 per family. The Con and Annie Kirby stake for 2015 commences this Saturday night 7th March at Limerick Greyhound Stadium. All locals are invited to cheer on the latest greyhound assigned to Galbally GAA wearing club colours.
