St Patrick's G.A.A. Club Notes

Annual General Meeting:

St. Patrick's G.A.A. club held a very successful Annual General Meeting on Monday evening in the clubhouse. Mass was held for the deceased members of 2014 by former club player Fr Pa O Brien. The beautiful Mass given by Fr Pa in which the club remembered all our club members who passed away during the twelve months including Jimmy Quilligan, Martin O Brien, Susan Cameron (Nee Dawson), Mrs Chrisie Dawson, Sarah Togher, John Cross, Celia Slattery (Nee Shanny), Sean Madden, Sophie Mulcahy, Kitty Walsh (nee Doyle), Paddy Joyce, Tommy McMahon, Paddy Bailey, Breda Quilligan, George Lynch, Noel Moloney and Liam O Floinn. The meeting was opened by Chairman Owen Shaughnessy in front of a large attendance welcomed all members to the meeting. Secretary Colm O Brien in his secretary report give great details of the club activities on and off the field with the highlights been the clubs success on the field winning County U21 football championship, County senior football league, runners up in the County senior football championship, County U16 premier football championship and reaching County finals at under 13 & 14 hurling. Treasurer Jack Sheehan gave a detailed financial report on the clubs finance, while Chairman Owen Shaughnessy gave a short address and pleaded for all club members, players and supporters to get behind this great club for 2015, Owen thanked all those who help him in 2014 when as chairman kept the club going forward and on the right track. Committee: Michael McNamara, Colm O Brien, Barry Doherty, Christopher Mortell, Ger Ryan, Niall Phelan, Mark Phelan, Thomas Downes, Ray Hogan, Ian Blake, Tony Quilligan, Sean Ryan, Hillary Greenwood & Laurence Cross 
Membership:
Membership for 2015 is now open Adults €40, Unemployed €25, Underage €20, O.A.P. €10 and Family € 50. Membership can now be paid to club PRO. Eamonn Phelan or any committee member as soon as possible.

Tommy McMahon RIP:

Tommy McMahon who was buried last Friday in Mount St Laurence is a former St Patrick's player. "Tommy was a very good age" An architect he was involved in the St Vincent De Paul Society for many years. Tommy and his brother Ciarán were members of the St Patrick's team that won the 1941 City minor hurling championship but were narrowly defeated by Bruff in the County final. The St Patrick's team also included Paddy O Keeffe, Dom McGrath, Matt O Connell, Toddy O Brien, Brendan Tobin (Current Vice President of the Club) the Collopy brothers Paddy and Donal, Paddy Fitzgerald, Sean Lynch, Tom Keyes, Eddie Cusack, Michael Keyes and Kevin McSweeney.

History in the Making:

At the clubs AGM last Monday evening history was made when Hannah Phelan became the first female secretary of St. Patrick's Club. Hannah a Sister of former club secretary of St. Patrick's and County P.R.O. Eamonn Phelan is really looking forward in taking up this roll for the coming season. Also at the A.G.M  long serving officer of St Patrick's has stepped down as Club treasurer after twenty years in that roll but Jack is not packing in yet as he now Club Presdent.  
Mackey Stand Draw
The club would like to sincerely thank all members who entered the Limerick club draw (Mackey Stand draw) for 2014. The club will be canvassing over the next couple of weeks for the 2015 draw for new supporters and club members to join the draw.
