Martin Vereker - RIP
St Mary's \ Sean Finns would like to offer their deepest sympathies to the family of Martin Vereker who died suddenly last Thursday evening. He will be fondly missed by all his friends from Rathkeale and surrounding areas.
U21 Football Premier Championship still alive for Rathkeale\Cappagh!
Rathkeale\Cappagh's U-21 Football Championship campaign is still alive thanks to a spirited fight back against Athea \Mountcollins last Friday night. With 10 minutes remaining Rathkeale\Cappagh trailed by 5 points however they showed great character when it was most needed and forced a replay by shooting 5 points of their own. Final scoreline Rathkeale \ Cappagh 0-12 Athea\ Mountcollins 1-09. The replay will be played this Friday night (December 12th) in Mick Neville Park at 8.30pm. All support is welcome and best of luck to players and management.
Annual General Meeting this Thursday night
All club members are reminded that the Club's Annual General Meeting takes place this Thursday night (11th Dec) in Rathkeale House Hotel at 7.30pm. As well as reviewing 2014, this is where plans for 2015 will be made, so we are hoping that all members will make an effort to be there. As well as members, any interested person is more that welcome to attend. There is one motion on the agenda to change the name of the club so if you have an input to make to this debate, make sure you are present this Thursday night. We look forward to seeing a sizeable crowd.
Rathkeale GAA Club Christmas Draw 2015
The Draw is on Thursday week (18th Dec) after the Bingo at the community Centre. Not much time left so make sure that you do your utmost to sell those tickets and return the stubs (and cash) before the Draw. Fifty great prizes on offer. The draw, now in its 63rd year, is one of your clubs main fundraisers. As a club, we have had great years recently, thanks in no small way to people like you who help to fund it via the Christmas draw. We are appealing to you to continue your support again this year. You are also invited to the draw at 10pm on Thursday 18 Dec in the community centre (after the bingo). Hope to see you there. Happy Christmas and thank you for your continued support. Promoters are asked to have their ticket stubs and cash back by Friday 12th December.
New West Board Chairman
Congrats to Jerry Molyneaux, who was elected the Chairman of West Limerick GAA Board at the recent convention in Templeglantine.
County Convention
This takes place this Sunday in Ballylanders. With an election in the pipeline for the Chairman and also for Munster Council delegates, it is bound to be a well-attended and interesting affair.
