Under 21 Footballers

Our under 21 footballers were in City Final action on Sunday evening when they travelled accross the City to Rhebogue.
Played in very cold and foggy conditions both teams served up a very high brand of football.
We began brightly and had some early scores from David Dempsey, Ronan McKenna and Evan Condon.
Our link play was good with the impressive midfield duo of David Dempsey and Will O Donoghue leading the way with some good delivery.
We conceded a rather soft goal mid way through the half to allow St Pats back into the game but our lads continued working hard and furhter points from Eoghan Keogh and William O Donoghue had us level at the break 1-3 to 0-6 at the break.
An Evan Egan free began the second half for us  but again the concession of a rather soft goal let our opponents back into the game .This goal proved crucial as try as we might we could not get the vital scores.
Our other scores of the half came from William O Donoghue, Evan Egan and David Dempsey in what was a very entertaining game.
We had very solid performances all over the field with our midfield duo in fine form along with Michael Casey at center back ably assisted by Mark Buckley and Ronan McKenna.
In spite of defeat we showed glimpses of excellent link play and teamwork and a little bit more composure in front of goal would have reaped reward for all the possession we had.
