Race Night: This Saturday night at 9 in the clubhouse - come along and have some fun! This night is a fundraiser towards the development of the field and tennis courts - it promises to be a great night.

LADIES FOOTBALL: For all news and updates, like the Monaleen Ladies Football Facebook page.
Minors: A brave display of courage and commitment by the  Groody Gaels Minor girls team ultimately came up just a little short against an experienced Monagea team in the County Minor Final played in bright but heavy conditions in Kildimo today. After a closely fought and exciting final the star-studded Monagea team emerged victors on a 5-8 to 2-6 scoreline. The final score does not do justice to a brave Groody team who gave their all and more than matched their more experienced opposition, laden with County senior stars, particularly in the first half which ended with Monagea holding just a one point lead at the interval. Unfortunately the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half proved Groody's undoing with three quick-fire goals just after half-time put paid to any title hopes Groody had. Nevertheless Groody fought to the bitter end and only bad luck prevented them replying with a few goals of their own. Ultimately this final was decided by the experience and fitness of a Monagea team who have been playing and training together since their U14 Feile days in 2010. This makes the achievement of a Groody team who have been together for less than 2 months all the more noteworthy and augers well for the future of this amalgamation between Monaleen and St Pats. Huge congratulations to all involved and here's to an exciting 2015!
U8's & 10's:  Our U8's and U10's had their final session for 2014 on Sunday. The girls participated in a skills competition comprising of 1) Picking the ball off the ground; 2) Hand passing; 3) Soloing; 4) High Catching; 5) Kick passing and 6) Kicking at goal.
All the girls showed great improvement throughout the year and the level of skills shown on Sunday was a credit to the dedication and hard work put in by the girls and their trainers. At the end the girls were presented their medals by Muiris Gavin.
U12's 14's & 16's: Training for all teams has now finished until the New Year. We have one final event for 2014 which is the medal presentation for the u12's, 14's and 16's will take place the on Friday December 5th in the Clubhouse.
Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others: We have our final training session for 2014 on Wednesday. This has been one of the big successes of the season. Our mothers and others have taken up ladies football and had a fantastic time developing skills and making new friendships.  Congratulations to all those involved who have been exemplary both on and off the pitch. We look forward to everyone coming back next year and to a new group of starters joining us.
