Notes for Wednesday and Thursday 19th and 20th of November 2014

Result:

U21 West A Football Championship Semi-Final

Shannan Gaels   1-9
Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2-4

This was a very tight game played in very good conditions for after a week of heavy rain the pitch held up, this was a thriller of a game between two evenly matched teams with Shannon Gaels coming out top of the evening with a great performance from Kevin Moran on the Shannon Gaels and also Cillian Fahy had a great game for Dromcollogher/ Broadford scoring 2-2 and the scores were Shane Murphy a point and John O'Gorman a point. This was first and last game in this competition the above club would like to thank the management team of: Micheál Reidy, Jason Stokes, Garry Noonan, Jim Barry and Gareth Meaney and the panel of players for their effort led by Patrick Stack Captain.

Shannon Gales scored the first two points of the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points and these point came from Cillian Fahy, John O'Gorman and Shane Murphy to give us the lead for the first time during the game.  Shannon Gales replied with a point to bring sides back on level terms for the second time during the game and then Cillian Fahy scored another point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Shannon Gaels scored another great point coming from Kevin Moran his fourth of the game to bring sides back on level terms for the third time during the game.  Shannon Gaels scored the last 1-1 of the half to leave four points between the sides at the break.  To leave the score at half-time Shannon Gaels 1-5 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-4.

Shannon Gales scored the first point of the second half and then Cillian Fahy then scored his first goal of the game to leave two points between the sides.  Shannon Gales scored the next point of the game and then Cillian Fahy scored his the second goal of the game to bring sides back on level terms for the fourth time during the game with 50 minutes gone in the game.  Shannon Gaels scored the last two points of the game to get the victory by two points and to book their place in the final.  To leave the score at full-time Shannon Gaels 1-9 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2-4.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Club Lotto Draw

Results of the 127th draw took place on Monday Night last October 17th, in The Green Bar, Dromcollogher, and the numbers drawn were: 5, 9, 11, and 17, there was no winner of jackpot at €13,900 and there was seven winners of match three at €100 and they each got €15 and they were: Diarmuid Reidy, Dromcollogher, Tara Reidy, Dromcollogher, Maura Meaney, Dromcollogher, Bertie O'Sullivan, Dromcollogher, M and K, C/o Maurice Browne, Anne Madigan, Broadford and Oisin Noonan, Broadford and two lucky dips winners of €50 each were: Paddy Stack, Farrihy, Broadford and Declan Sexton, Milford and the next draw will take place on this coming Monday November 24th, in Begley's Bar, Broadford, with the jackpot going up to €14,000 (win or share) and with the match three staying at €100 (win or share).  Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.

Membership

Membership for the above club €20 playing and non-playing in both adults and Students for this year is now overdue since March 31st, please pay to the relevant people you are not covered to play unless you have your membership paid in full.

Race Night

The above club will be holding our annual " Race Night " at Skuller's Bar, Dromcollogher, on Sunday December 28th 2014, at 7.30pm.  As it is necessary for the programme for this event to be printed well in advance , our committee members will be calling to all homes in the parish over the next couple of weeks to ask for your support.
