U21 Football Premier Championship - Rathkeale\Cappagh record second win!
Rathkeale\Cappagh made it two wins from three last Friday night with a hard fought victory over St Kierans. In a game where both sides were evenly matched Rathkeale\Cappagh ran out eventual winners on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-10 in Mick Neville Park. Round 4 continues this Friday night (November 14th) when Rathkeale\Cappagh travel to Kilbreedy to play Grange which is another must win game. Throw in is at 8.15pm, all support is welcome.
The remaining list of group-2 games are as follows:
Friday 14th Nov, Rathkeale/Cappagh v Bruff
Friday 21st Nov, Rathkeale/Cappagh v Shamrocks.
Group-1 consists of Oola, Athea/Mountcollins, Ballybrown, Black & Whites, Fr Caseys & St Johns.
The top team from both groups earns an automatic semi-final spot while 2nd  from one group plays 3rd from the other group in both quarter finals.

 

Senior County Football League Division 1 2014 Final
The games are coming thick and fast now for our senior footballers who will dust the boots down for a second time in the same number of months. Sean Finns will take on St Patrick's in the 2014 County League Final on Friday November 21st in Mick Neville at 6.45pm. Sean Finns will no doubt like to finish the year on a positive note so it's a final we should treat with great importance. Best of luck to players and management, all support is welcome as always. 

Post Primary School competitions.
Best of luck to the West Limerick Collages football team who play Rochestown this Wednesday 12th Nov in round 2 of Corn Ui Mhuire. The game will take place in Mallow. Our club players involved are Darragh O Grady, Kevin Shanahan, Andrew White, Aaron O Connor, Dylan Young and Mikey Morrissey.

Well done to West Limerick Collages Hurling team who had a great victory over St. Flannans of Ennis. Our club was represented by Gearoid Mulcaire, Seamus Keating, Mikey Morrissey and Andrew White, well done to all. The next game is scheduled for Nov 19th v Ardscoil Ris.

Scor na nOg Talent Competition 
The West Final of the Scor na nOg will take place in  Castlemahon  Community Centre at 7.30pm on Friday  Nov 21st .  All budding entertainers who will be still under 17 by 1st Jan 2015 are eligible to compete in Scor na nOg provided you are a member of your local GAA / Bord na nOg.   There is no entry fee.  Applicants need to apply through the local Irish Officer as soon as possible. It is required to fill and sign a special entry form. 
The emphasis is on Irish music, Irish dancing and for each of Solo-Singing, Ballad Group, Drama and Recitation the theme of the song or story needs to be related to Ireland, its people, Irish places or in the Irish Language.   
The following seven competitions will take place on Fri Nov 21st in Castlemahon Community Centre at 7.30pm:
Figure Dancing (Group of between 4 and 8 people, one 16 Bar dance)
Solo Singing (One song. Theme related to Ireland. May be accompanied but not by Keyboard or Piano).
Recitation (One story or poem related to Ireland, not longer than 6 minutes.)
Instrumental Music (Group between 2 and 5 people. Irish Music. 2 tunes of different character).
Drama (Group between 3 and 7 people, Based on Irish History or Mythology. Only props allowed are Hand- held props and only 1 battery-operated item allowed on stage. Time limit 12 minutes. 
Ballad Group (Between 3 and 5 people, sing 2 songs of contrasting tempo and  one of these should be a Ballad as Gaeilge. Instruments are optional and only 3 instruments allowed to play for each song. )
Set Dancing (Between 4 and 8 dancers, One set- dance of 16 bars and dancers are encouraged to dress in club colours. No special dancing costumes allowed.)       
        The winners of each of the above 7 competitions will qualify for the County Final to be held in the fabulous Theatre at LIT in Limerick on Friday 5th December at 7.30pm.
        The 8th competition is a Table Quiz with teams of 4. This will be a straight County Final at Ballybrown Clubhouse on Wednesday 3rd December at 8pm.  The winning team will represent limerick in the Scor Quiz National final.
