All in Ballybrown would like to sympathise with the family and friends of the late William (Willie) Keyes. May he rest in peace.
UNDER 21 FOOTBALL Our under 21 footballers headed for Martinstown on Friday evening 7 November to take on Galbally in the third round of the championship. The first half was a very even affair with Galbally scoring a point from the throw in. Ballybrown replied with points from Cian Hedderman and Killian Gavin Two points from Galbally saw them take the lead for a second time and it looked like we were going to have a ding dong battle on our hands. A long ball kicked towards goal by Killian Gavin was fisted to the back of the net by Mickey Davoran for a well taken goal. Galbally replied with a point to leave the half time score Ballybrown 1-02 to Galbally 0-04. What happened at half time I don't know but the second half was a completely different game as Ballybrown took complete control. Four points in a row from David Hall, Mikey Davoran, Killian Gavin and David Hall followed by three goals, two from Cian Hedderman and one from David Hall and the match was over as a contest. Three points from Killian Gavin Killian Cliffe and Tom Clancy and a goal for Galbally saw Ballybrown win this one 4-09 to 1-04. This was a very impressive display from these lads and with five points from three matches they are well on course to reach the quarter finals.
UNDER 11 WINTER HURLING LEAGUE Ballybrown continued their fine form on Friday evening when they again played two matches in the impressive new facilities at St. Patricks. Ballybrown played Claughaun in the first match and were much too strong for them. The second match saw us take on NaPiarsaigh again Ballybrown were the better on the night and won convincingly. This is a fine Ballybrown team and we have a number of very good teams coming through which is a testament to the fine work being done at juvenile level within the club at present.
Our Camogie club held their A.G.M on Thursday night with a new look top table we wish them well for 2015 and would like to thank those that stepped down for their hard work this year and beyond.
Ballybrown would like to join with the rest of the parish and wish Gretta Fitzgerald a speedy recovery.
