Limerick chairman Oliver Mann is set to be opposed by vice-chairman Pat Heffernan at December's annual convention.
The Limerick Leader website is reporting that it will be the first time in nearly 20 years that the chairman has faced such a challenge. Patrickswell's Mann was elected to the top job two years ago, but Blackrock clubman Heffernan is determined to oust him at the December 14 summit.
Only last month, Heffernan was at odds with Mann over the decision to remove Brian Ryan and Ciaran Carey as minor and U21 hurling manager and replace them with Leo O'Connor and John Kiely respectively.
Meanwhile, there will be an election for the two Munster Council delegate positions after Mickey O'Sullivan (St. Kieran's), Liam Lenihan (Tournafulla) and Frank Reidy (Feohanagh-Castlemahon) were nominated.
