Ballybrown club notes
September 29, 2014MINOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP Ballybrown 2.12 Mungret 0.11 Ballybrown played Mungret in the last round of the Minor championship on Wednesday in Ballybrown. This was a very entertaining match and the Ballybrown team worked hard all through. We unfortunately failed to make the quarter finals and will be disappointed especially as some of the earlier results could have gone our way. Adrian McGann and Sean Healy got the two goals with the points coming from Killian Gavin Arron O Reilly and Ross Griffen. With many of these players making there way onto our Senior teams over the coming years it wont be long before we are back winning county titles.
UNDER 6 HURLING Last Friday night, Ballybrown hosted Patrickswell in their first hurling blitz for U6s. It was a huge success with over fifty boys and girls participating. Both Ballybrown and Patrickswell fielded two mixed teams. We hope that this is the first of many such events and if Friday night is anything to go by the future is bright for Ballybrown GAA.
All are welcome to join Ballybrown U6s. If you are interested, bring your boy or girl along to training on any Friday evening from 17:45.
The next blitz is on Friday evening, 03 October. Ballybrown will play away to Ahane in Lisnagry National school. Meeting in Clarina at Ballybrown clubhouse leaving at 17:30 sharp.
UNDER 10 HURLING Our under 10s travelled to Cork on Saturday to play in a blitz. We played three matches and won two which is a great feat and great credit is due to the boys and girls to their mentors and to our loyal band of parents and supporters who are always there behind us
UNDER 13 HURLING our under 13s take on Mungret on Thursday the 2 October in Mungret at 6pm and play NaPiarsaigh in Ballybrown on Monday 6 October also at 6pm
COUNTY CUP Ballybrown senior hurlers take on Patrickswell in the semi final of the county cup on Sunday morning 11.30 in Claughaun. We have also qualified for the final of the Munster senior league so we still have plenty to play for.
