LOTTO:  There was no winner of last week's jackpot of €13,300 numbers drawn were 3, 6, 17 and 30.  The next jackpot will be €13,600.  Our four lucky dip winners were:  E. Kelly,  G. Cummings, P. Murphy, and P. Ryan.  Tickets can be purchased on a weekly basis from local shops and pubs.  Please support us as this support is vital to the development of the club.

The JUNIOR B Hurlers had a great win in Clarina on Saturday evening.  We retained our City title in beating a determined Kildimo/Pallaskenry side in the CITY JUNIOR B HURLING FINAL. We came out victorious on a 3-10 to 1-10 scoreline.  Three first half goals from Peter Griffin, Butters and Dave Hennessy gave us a foothold that Kildimo/Pallaskenry were unable to regain. A second half onslaught was repelled by a classy Monaleen outfit, showing why they were the reigning champions.  Well done to all.  A great performance.  A county title is the next aim!

Team: C O'Dwyer, P O'Kane, K Mullane, N Macken, D Pond, D Smith,  A DeSousa, P McCarthy, F Nash, D Lehane, D Mulhall, P McLoughlin, P Griffin, D Hennessy, S Ryan. Subs: C Gallagher for D Lehane, S Griffin for S Ryan.
The Junior B Hurlers now play the County Quarter Final on the weekend of the 27 September. Venue and opposition TBC.
The Intermediate Hurlers had a disappointing loss to Kildimo/Pallaskenry in Mungret on Friday evening.  Monaleen 0-16. Kildimo/ Pallaskenry 1-14.

After a great first 20 minutes we conceded a scrappy goal in the stroke of half time to go in a point up at the break. We lost our momentum in the second half and Kildimo/Pallaskenry gained the upper hand. However, the game looked to be heading for a draw when the referee awarded an inexplicable free to  the opposition with Monaleen in possession and on the attack. Kildimo/Pallaskenry duly pointed the resultant free and bagged a win.
Team;  F Kenzie, C O'Brien, D Cosgrave, J Porter, L Lyons, B Geary, A LaToucheCosgrave, S Mullane, M Doyle, D Foley, J O'Dwyer, L Murphy, P Russell, E Doyle, G Collins.

Monaleen brought twenty-five enthusiastic young hurlers on the trip and each and every one of the players gave 100% in effort, commitment and high levels of skill for the full day. All their parents should take a bow for the skills, attitude and respect the players showed throughout the long day. We split our squad in two and both squads had some very tough and exciting games against teams from Craughwell, Kilmacud Crokes, Athenry, Naas & Clarinbridge. Monaleen proved with their results on the day what a strong and skilful squad they are. Well done to all the players for such a fantastic day out!.
