Monaleen club notes

LOTTO:  There was no winner of last week's jackpot of €12,400 numbers drawn were 17, 18, 19 and 23.  The next jackpot will be €12,700.  Our four lucky dip winners were D. Browne, A. McConkey, C. Curtin and S. O'Donoghue.  Tickets can be purchased on a weekly basis from local shops and pubs.  Please support us as this support is vital to the development of the club. 

One Helluva Hooley takes place in Monaleen GAA on Saturday, August 30th - there will be a craic galore with BBQ and  great music on the night - with Handipak, The Clampers and Mad Mick already signed up.  Tickets at €15 are available in The Clubhouse Bar, or from Alan Kitson, Mary Smith, Caroline O'Kane, Tony Power, Shane Mullane, Keenan Mullane, Gordon Larkin.

Junior B Hurlers  won well on Sunday at home to Patrickswell, with a scoreline of 2 - 17 to 7 points.  The boys  took part in the  ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE for MND after the match - the video is available to watch on facebook  and is well worth viewing!  The semi final is to be played this  Sunday - check our Facebook page for details.
Senior Footballers lost to St. Patrick's in Claughaun on Saturday night - 3-08 to 12 points.

Gaelic for Mothers & Others: Our Gaelic for Mothers and Others has returned.  Times have changed  as the nights begin to draw in - 7.30 - 8.30 in the  Clubhouse field.  New recruits are always welcome.

MONALEEN CAMOGIE:
For most of our teams this is the week the championship begins.  Both U12 teams are in action on Thursday with both at home on the clubhouse pitch.  Monaleen,  who are in the A section, play Blackrock/Effin while Monaleen 2, who are in B, play Kileedy.  On Tuesday our U14's play Crecora at home at 7pm. A win will put the girls in the semi final. The U16s play Granagh Ballingarry at home on Friday at 6.30pm while the Juniors take on Crecora away on Sunday evening.  A big week for the club so come out and support the girls.

JUVENILE HURLING & FOOTBALL: 
Congratulations to our U14 Footballers who won the Division 1 Shield Final on Saturday afternoon.  The game against Fr. Casey's was played in Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale.  Our boys played well, with a final scoreline of 3-09 to 2 points.
Best of luck to our young boys who are representing their club at county level  in various hurling tournaments this weekend:  Seán O'Kane who will be on the U14 Limerick team participating in the Forristal Hurling Competition in Waterford,  Conor Nicholas and David Moloney who will be participating in the U15 Carrigdhoun Tournament in Cork and Jamie Power, Darren Golden and Mark O'Dwyer who are on the U16  County team taking part in the Tournament in Tipperary.  The club is well represented at county level, and we are very proud of their hard work, efforts and commitment.

2001 Football: Training takes place each Tuesday evening at 7.15 p.m.
2002 Footballers: Training each Monday at 6.30pm in Peafield Road. 
U6/U7/U8 Hurling: Well done to all who took part in the U8 Hurling Blitz held in UL last Friday. We fielded 2 Teams combined from our U7 & U8 players and each and every one of our boys played fantastic hurling. Great Team prospects for the future.  We will return to training as normal for all groups (U6/U7/U8) including any newcomers on Friday 12th Sept, 6.30 at Clubhouse pitch.
U6 Football are taking a break for July and August.
U7/U8 Football : now training Mondays at the Clubhouse at 6.30 p.m
U-10 (2004) Footballers are now on their summer break until end of August.
U11 Hurling: Training continues on Fridays in Peafield 6pm.
U11 Football: Are on a break until the end of August. 
U12 Football: We are on summer break from U12 football until the middle of August,
U13 Football: Training continues on Tuesday evening s at 7:15 at the clubhouse
U16 Football:  Training for U15's and U16's has been changed to Thursday at 7.30 in Newtown.
U16 hurling: Training continues on Sunday afternoons 3pm, clubhouse pitch

Juvenile Registration - Monaleen GAA is moving to an online registration system, which will eliminate the current paper based system.  This new system is expected to be up and running in September, and we will be in touch later with more details.

Having a Party? The Clubhouse is available to hire for private parties - 21st, 30th, 40th, Christenings/Communions, etc.  Talk to Tony Power, Caroline O'Kane or Paudie Ryan in the Bar

CLUB GEAR: Monaleen Club Sports Gear is available to purchase from the Castletroy Car Care shop next to SuperValu in the Castletroy Shopping Centre.
Monaleen GAA Club car stickers are now available from the clubhouse and a variety of sellers. €3 each or 2 for €5. Proudly show your support for your club.
