Well Done
To all involved with Limerick Junior Camoige team on their All-Ireland win on Sunday last in Moneygall.
Senior Hurling
Ahane senior hurlers qualified for the quarter-final after there last gasp win over Adare last Tuesday night in Gaelic Grounds. Hero's of the night were Tom and Paddy Morrissey who pulled the match out of the fire. Paddy scoring an injury time goal and Tom after Adare leveled scored the winning point. Adare led at half time on a score line of 1-09 to 0-07. Adare had taken the match to Ahane and were 1-04 to 0-01 up after 10 mins. Ahane were struggling at this time and were finding scores hard to come by. Play resumed for the second half and and 10 mins in Adare led by 1-14 to 0-10. Ahane then sprung to life and held Adare scoreless for 20 mins. Ahane started to score at will and tagged on 4 points to leave scorline 1-14 to 0-14 with 15mins left. then Ahane made a change and sprung Paddy Morrissey from the bench and then on the 53rd minute scored the all important goal to give Ahane the lead for the first time. As injury time loomed Adare leveled the match but then up sprung county minor Tom Morrissey to score the winning point to leave the scoreline Ahane 1-16 Adare 1-15 Ahane lined out as follows J Hayes J Enright P treacy C Ryan J Meskell D Morrissey S Hartnett S Madden M Foley M Carr N Moran P O Hallorhan K Enright R Ryan T Morrissey Subs used P Morrissey F Ahern C O Reilly.
Junior Hurling
Ahane bowed out of this years championship last Sunday nite wirh a defeat by Kilteely/Dromkeen on a scoreline Ahane 0-09 Kilteely/Dromkeen 1-15, Ahane had reached the semi-final after a big win over Ballybricken last Wednesday nite in Boher on a scoreline Ahane 1-16 Ballybricken 0-10.
