Limerick minor manager Brian Ryan refused to dwell on his side's controversial defeat to Galway last year after yesterday's All-Ireland semi-final.

Beaten after extra-time in the corresponding fixture l2 months ago after a Hawk-Eye malfunction had denied Barry Nash a legitimate point in normal time, revenge was sweet for the Treaty County as they qualified for next month's All-Ireland final against Kilkenny with an emphatic 1-27 to 2-9 victory.

"It's water under the bridge what happened last year," Ryan insisted.

"It was an incident that was outside of the Galway players' control. We were just delighted with the performance today.

"There is no doubt the experience of last year stood to us. We said before we need to get Limerick teams to Croke Park on a more frequent basis. That is central to our underage development policy.

"Barry Nash was very good, Ronan Lynch was very good, but we have a lot of good, young hurlers out there. There is a lot of competition for places in the panel. We were able to introduce Barry Murphy and he only joined the panel 10 days ago."

Looking ahead to the final, the manager added: "Tactically we have a lot of work done. Our target from day one was to get to a final and we are there now. There was a lot of tough hurdles out there. Kilkenny will be formidable, but we have massive confidence in the lads' ability."
