GARTH BROOKS TRIBUTE BAND Many thanks to those who support and helped to make this event happen. The croud may have been smaller than we would have hoped for but the band were excellent and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
JUNIOR A CITY CHAMPIONSHIP After two great wins we were brought down to earth on Saturday evening in Mungret when St. Patricks beat us by two points in a very forget-able match. Ballybrown led early on with three points from Killian Gavin but a nasty injury to Mark Sheehan and six unanswered points for Pats and we knew we were in trouble, the last point of the half came from Killian Cliffe and this proved to be our only score from play in the entire game. Two points down and not playing well at half time we were still in the game. The second half followed the same pattern as the first with Ballybrown never getting into their stride and Pats maintained their two point lead throghout. Ballybrown got a twentyone yard free in injury time, but a well struck free from Patrick Hartigan was stopped on the line. full time score Ballybrown 0-09 St. Patricks 0-11.
JUNIOR B CITY CHAMPIONSHIP Ballybrown 1-11 Na Piarsaigh 3-13 An eight point defeat does not do this game justice. This was a very entertaining between two evenly matched teams, Ballybrown started bright and were leading by five points coming up to half time when NaPiarsaigh struck for a goal against the run of play to leave Ballybrown ahead by two points at half time. A second goal at the start of the second half and Na Piarsaigh led for the first time. Ballybrown played on gamely throughout the second half but the scores just wouldnt come and when Na Piarsaigh got their third goal our faith was sealed, but this was a hard fought game and the lads gave it everything.
COUNTY SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP By the time you read this the match will probably have been played, but I want to wish our senior team all the best on Tuesday evening when we take on South Liberties in what is a huge game for both teams.
ALLIRELAND MINOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP Fantastic display on Sunday lads. Keep your heads down and best of luck in the final.
