Monaleen GAA Duck Race - was an outstanding success and the GAA Club would like to sincerely thank everyone who helped out - from the volunteers in the water, the men in the kayaks, the duck sellers, the duck buyers, the corporate duck buyers, Megan for the lovely signs, and especially to everyone who turned out to cheer it on in what luckily turned out to be dry weather conditions. A special note of thanks also to John Nicholas of The Black Swan for sponsoring this event. First prize in the corporate race went to BDO whose company name will now be printed on a set of team jerseys for a year. The overall winner of the duck race itself was Jason Larkin who won €500.00 - Congratulations Jason!!!

U10 Hurling: Our U10 hurlers took up the invite from Kilmacud Crokes to play a game in Dublin on the morning of the Limerick's All-Ireland semi-final game against Kilkenny. As always we received great hospitality from Kilmacud Crokes who were most gracious hosts. We brought 19 players to Kilmacud and special mention has to go to some of the younger brothers of our U-10's from the U7,U8 & U9 squads who beefed up our squad on the day. None of the younger players looked out of place with the U-10's. We ended up with five sets of brothers in our travelling squad and all performed to a very high level. Monaleen just about came out on top in a closely fought and skilful game of hurling. Thanks to all the parents for travelling to Dublin early and fitting the match into a hectic day which ultimately ended in disappointment for Limerick. Best of luck to Limerick in the All-Ireland minor semi-final against Galway next Sunday and particularly the four Monaleen players. Based on this performance Monaleen will have similar representation on the Limerick minor team in 2022 if the boys keep up the hard work!. Travelling squad on the day were: Ben Hayes, Tony Power, Ben Moylan, Ben Murnane, Muiris O'Dalaigh, Jack Ryan, Luke Ryan, Oisin Toland, Bryan Toland, Joseph Fitzgerald, Matthew Fitzgerald, Oisin Williams, Chulainn Williams, Darragh Clifford, Cillian Clifford, John Foley, Shane Twomey, Andrew Clinton & Eoin Dignam.
