JUNIOR A HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP Ballybrown 2-17 Patrickswell 0-09 Played in Mungret on Saturday night Ballybrown have made it two wins out of two and put themselves in a great position to qualify for the semi finals of the city championship. Twenty minutes into the match and honours were even at six points each and it looked like this one was going to go down to the wire, but Ballybrown pulled away scoring 1-04 to a point in the last ten minutes of the first half to open a decisive gap 1-10 to 0-07 at half time. Two great saves from Andrew Cliffe at either side of half time were very important and kept Patricswell at arms length. Ballybrown remained in control in the second half and ended up winning by fourteen points. It was fantastic to see another young hurler Aidan McGainn make his debut at adult level and his first duty was to stand in goal for a penalty which was duly saved. Scores for Ballybrown K Gavin 0-09 W Stanners 1-01 K Cliffe 1-00 M Sheehan 0-04 A Cliffe 0-01 and K Power 0-02.
COUNTY SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP The fourth round of the Senior Hurling Championship Ballybrown v South Liberties is fixed for Tue 19th August in Claughaun. This is a huge match for the club and your support would be appreciated
