Minor County Championship
Fr. Caseys 4-17 St. Patricks 2-04

Our Minor footballers had a very impressive 4-17 to 2-04 last Wednesday evening in round 3 of the County Minor Championship. Having lost their opening game to Mungret, Fr. Caseys have since recorded a narrow victory over Na Piarsaigh and 19 point victory over a St. Patricks team who up until last week had been the pace setters in the group. Everything now comes down to the last group game this Friday night. A victory over Newcastle West would see our Minors reach the County Semi-Finals but a defeat would mean that we would rely on results elsewhere going their way. There is no doubt over Minors have made major improvements in the past month and hopefully they can keep the good form going this weekend. The game against Newcastle West takes place this Friday evening in Abbeyfeale at 7pm.

Junior West Championship
Fr. Caseys 3-06 Monagea 2-09

Our Junior A footballers saw victory snatched from them last Friday night in Tournafulla by an injury time goal from Monagea. To their credit Fr. Caseys had put in an impressive performance throughout the night and leading by 4 points in the dying stages it looked like victory was signed and sealed. Monagea had battled gallantly all night however and staged a late rally to share the spoils. This was a much improved performance from our Juniors who put their one bad outing against Glin behind them and returned to the free flowing football they have been displaying all year. Monagea who were West champions in 2012 were always going to be difficult opponents and they were equally accurate in front of goals. What this results means is that Glin will now top the group while second place won't be decided until the final round of games. Fr. Caseys, Granagh/Ballingarry and Monagea can all finish second and claim the automatic semi-final spot. If results don't go our way we are still guaranteed a quarter-final spot. The next game is fixed for mid-August against Granagh/Ballingarry

Limerick Development Draw
The fifth Limerick Development Draw of 2014 took place last Saturday morning. The draw was broadcast live on Limerick's 95FM at 10am. Again this month our club was fortunate to have a winner. Congratulations to Dan Harnett who won a €250 gift voucher. The next draw will be held on Saturday August 30th, once more broadcast live on radio. A full list of winners can be seen on the Limerick GAA website www.limerickgaa.ie. We wish everyone involved the very best of luck.

In total there are 10 monthly draws from March to December. The top prize each month is €13,000, with a host of other cash prizes and vouchers to be won. The cost of entry is €10 per draw. Half of the money collected is returned to our local GAA Club so we strongly encourage all club members and supporters to join the draw. The Limerick Development Draw has been one of our best sources of finance in recent years and these funds are vital to continue the development of our club. If you would like to join the draw or find out more information please feel free to contact our draw coordinator Liam O'Connor on 087 9267039.

Fr. Casey's GAA History Book
A book on the history of Fr. Casey's GAA is currently being compiled. If anyone has old photographs, articles or newspaper cuttings relating to the club it would be appreciated if it can be brought to us so a copy can be made. Please contact Julie O'Brien, Billy Ahern or Gerard O'Connor if you have something that can be included in this very interesting project.

Super Valu / O'Neills Vouchers
Super Valu in connection with O'Neills and the GAA have launched a fantastic offer where local GAA clubs can claim a €1,000 voucher to spend on training kit and equipment. To avail of this offer we need our supporters to collect Super Valu vouchers on our behalf and place them in the appropriate Fr. Caseys box in Twohigs SuperValu, Abbeyfeale. Only when we reach the targeted amount can our club claim the prize. We would be extremely grateful for your support. More details are available on our Facebook page.
