Notes for Wednesday and Thursday 16th and 17th of April 2014

ALL ROADS LEAD TO KILMALLOCK!!!

FOR THE COUNTY SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GROUP 2 ROUND 1 AGAINST ST. PATRICK'S, ON THIS COMING SATURDAY APRIL 26TH, IN KILMALLOCK, AT 6.45PM. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SENIOR FOOTBALLERS IN THEIR QUEST FOR THREE-IN-A-ROW!!!

These sides have met on two occasions in the past number of years the current champions have being victorious on both occasions, back in 2011 championship in the Quarter Final Dromcollogher/ Broadford won on a scoreline of 2-9 to 0-6 and then in the group stages of 2010 Dromcollogher/ Broadford and we won again of 3-14 to 1-12, come Saturday evening we hoping for the same result, to get our quest for three-in-a-row off to a good start.

This was a very one sided game with the goals been the difference between the sides on the night with the points coming from Denis Donegan 3 points, Gearóid Lehane and Shane Murphy a point each.

Mountcollins/ Athea Rangers scored the first three points and then Denis Donegan replied with a point from a free to leave two points between the sides. Mountcollins/ Athea scored the next 2-1 and they started to pull away from Dromcollogher/ Broadford and then Gearóid Lehane scored a point from play for Dromcollogher/ Broadford. Mountcollins/ Athea Rangers scored the last two points of the half, to leave ten points between the sides at the break. To leave the score at half-time Mountcollins/ Athea Rangers 2-6 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-2.

Mountcollins/ Athea Rangers scored the next 1-1 and then Denis Donegan scored the next point coming from a free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford. Mountcollins/ Athea Rangers scored the next point and then Shane Murphy scored the next point from penalty for Dromcollogher/ Broadford. Mountcollins/ Athea Rangers scored the 1-1 and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the last point coming from Denis Donegan scored the next point which was the point of the game to leave 16 points between the sides at end of the game. To leave the score at full-time Mountcollins/ Athea Rangers 4-9 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-5.

This was a game of two halves with Dromcollogher/ Broadford at the break 2-5 to 1-1, but then in the second half Deel Rangers came back into the game scoring 2-5 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-4, to leave the sides on level terms at end of the game, with one draw and loss after the first two games.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Club Lotto Draw

Results of the 97th draw took place on Monday Night last April 21st, in Nunan's Bar, Dromcollogher and the numbers drawn were: 1, 3, 17 and 21, there was no winner of jackpot at €10,900 and there was two winners of the Match three at €100 and they each got €50 each and they were: Peter O'Halloran, Newtownshandrum and Coireall MacCurtáin, Beal An Atha and the 2 lucky dips winners of €50 each were: Paddy O'Brien, Castleishon, Dromcollogher and Anne Lordan, Dromcollogher and the next draw takes place on this coming night Monday April 28th, in O'Shea's Bar, Dromcollogher, with the jackpot going up to €11,000 (win or share) and with the match three staying at €100 (win or share). Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.

Hard Luck

To Our Minor Footballers Management Team led by Colin Loran and Our Minor Footballers led by Billy Foley Captain against Mountcollins/ Athea Rangers, in the West Minor Football Championship Round 2. We lost to Mountcollins/ Athea Rangers on a scoreline of 4-9 to 0-5.

To Limerick Minor Footballers Management Team and especially our club selector: Garrett Noonan and also John Cregan (Chairman of the Football Board) against Cork, in the Munster Minor Football Championship Quarter Final, they lost to Cork on a scoreline of 6-15 to 1-07.

Non- Stop Draw

The above club will hold a three month non-stop draw over the months of May, June and July at a cost of €20 per month or one up-front payment of €50. There will be a prize fund of €1,000 per month and all proceeds will go towards the ongoing preparation of our teams and towards the maintenance and upgrading of club facilities. Our draw promoters will be calling to all homes in the parish over the next few weeks and your support for this draw would be very much appreciated.

Membership

Membership for the above club €20 playing and non-playing in both adults and Students for this year is now overdue since March 31st, please pay to the relevant Team manager, you are not covered to play unless you have your membership paid in full.
