MINORS:Minors played there second match of the 13 a side Championship on Friday evening when Glenroe were the visitors to the GAA Field. Lovely evening for hurling and we were treated to a great game of hurling which saw over the 50 minutes of action the team's level on nine occasions.First half both teams had periods of Domination and it was hard to separate these teams and at the break it was level at 8pts all. Scores in the first half by Dylan Mulqueen , Bernard Kennedy , and Daniel Heffernan,
Into the second half we were treated to end to end hurling as from one to thirteen the lads battled for every inch of the Field. From the fullback line of Jason Warren and Shane Kenny right though midfield John Rainsford and David Moloney and on to our forwards they took the game to Glenroe and after 40 minutes the teams were level again 13 points apiece and then when Aaron Nelligan pointed to put us up getting on our first win looked on the cards. Glenroe came back at us and were soon in the lead thanks to a Free and a point from play but once again the lads dug deep and good work by Kevin and David Wixted earned us a free and Bernard Kennedy slotted it over the bar game now level again for the ninth time a draw looked to be on the cards but there was one more twist as a late Glenroe attack yield them a free from about 30 yards out and they put it over the bar. Time was not on outside then but one last attack from the lads could not get the equalising point and as full time whistle blew Glenroe won on the narrow margin of 0-16 to 0-15.
Tough on the lads who gave it all and produced a great hurling match and they did deserve something from this game.
That is the final group game before the Leaving Cert the minors will resume at the end of June.

U16S:U16s this year as playing 15 a side Championship. And on Monday evening the 14th of April we played our first Championship game we took on Ballybrown.
21 players togged out. On the evening first half was nip and tuck as Ballybrown took a four point lead but the lads started to get into the game and we won a few frees to reduce the gap and then on 16 minutes a fine solo run by David Moloney into the 21 yard line and he let fly and into the back of the net. Both teams exchanged scores from then until half time and at the break the score was Ballybrown 1-6 Caherline 1-4
Into the Second half and Ballybrown got the better start and soon had built up a good lead but credit to the lads they stuck at their task and made it hard for the ballybrown backs and had them under pressure a lot of times but we could not get the rewards on the scoreboard for our efforts.
As the second half wore on Ballybrown should why they are one of the favourites for U16s Championship and they pushed further ahead.
And at fulltime the final score was Ballybrown 2-22 Caherline 1-6
Well done to the lads credit to all they gave it all for the 60 Minutes.
Next up for the U16s is St Patricks on Monday the 28th of April.
