Seamus Hickey's rehabilitation from a cruciate ligament injury is on schedule ahead of Limerick's defence of their Munster SHC crown.

The 26 year old sustained the injury during last year's All-Ireland SHC semi-final defeat to Clare and missed out on their disappointing league campaign as they failed to secure promotion from Division 1B.

The Murroe-Boher clubman expects to be fit for their championship opener against Tipperary.

"I'm weaning myself back into game scenarios," Hickey revealed to the Irish Daily Star. "It's going really well."

Further good news for Treaty supporters is that Declan Hannon's groin injury is also clearing up. Tweet
