Notes for Wednesday and Thursday 16th and 17th of April 2014

West Minor A and B Hurling Championship Round 1

Dromcollogher/ Broadford 4-24
Templeglantine 2-07

This was a very one sided game, with we getting off to a winning start in the Minor Hurling and our next game against Deel Rangers that will be a bigger test for our boys, with the goals on the night coming from Nigel O'Callaghan 2 goals, Declan Stack and Damien Burke a goal each and the rest of the points scores were: Padráig Aherne 10 points and Denis Donegan 7 points, Damien Burke 3 points, Jack O'Sullivan 2 points, Billy Foley and Daniel Curtin a point each.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first 1-7 of the game with the goal coming from Nigel O'Callaghan and the points came from Padráig Ahern and Denis Donegan 3 points each and Jack O'Sullivan a point and then Templeglantine replied with a goal to leave seven points between the sides. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points and these points came from Denis Donegan and Padráig Aherne and then Templeglantine scored their first point of the game to leave eight points between the sides. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points with two of these points coming from Damien Burke and the other point coming from Padráig Aherne. Templeglantine scored the second goal of the game with 26 minutes gone in the game to leave eight points between the sides. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point coming from Damien Burke and then Templeglantine replied with a point. Declan Stack scored the second goal of the game for Dromcollogher/ Broadford just before the break to leave 11 points between sides at end of the half. To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2-13 to Templeglantine 2-02.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first three of the second half with two of these coming from Denis Donegan and the other coming from Padráig Ahern and then Templeglantine scored replied another point. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points and these points came from Padráig Aherne and Billy Foley and then Templeglantine scored the next two points. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next 1-1 with the goal of coming Nigel O'Callaghan his second of the game and the point came from Denis Donegan and then Templeglantine replied with next two points. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points all coming from Padráig Aherne and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored their fourth goal of the game coming from Damien Burke. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the last two points of the game and these points came from Daniel Curtin and Jack O'Sullivan. To leave the score at full-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 4-24 to Templeglantine 2-07.

St. Kieran's 0-13
Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-09

This was a very tight game played down in Newcastle West, in very good conditions, with St. Kieran's been the better side on the day, with the goal for Dromcollogher/ Broadford coming from Killian Phair.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first goal of the game coming from Killian Phair in the first minute of the game and then St. Kieran's scored the next six points to lead by three points. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next five points before the break to leave two points between the sides at end of the half and these points came from Patrick Donnelly two points, Garrett Noonan, Derry McCarthy and Colin Lordan a point each. To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-5 to St. Kieran's 0-6.

St. Kieran's scored the first point of the second half and then Michael O'Sullivan scored his first point of the game for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave a goal between the sides. St. Kieran's scored the next four points without reply from Dromcollogher/ Broadford to take the lead once again and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points and these points came from Micheál Reidy and Liam McGaynor to give us back the lead by a point. St. Kieran's scored the last two points of the game to win by a point. To leave the score at full-time St. Kieran's 0-13 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-09.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Club Lotto Draw

Results of the 96th draw took place on Monday Night last April 14th, in Begley's Bar, Broadford and the numbers drawn were: 2, 6, 11 and 16, there was no winner of jackpot at €10,800 and there was two winners of the Match three at €100 and they each got €50 each and they were: Paddy O'Brien, Castleishion, Dromcollogher and Lillian O'Donnell, Knockaderry and the 2 lucky dips winners of €50 each were: John Sheehan, Kells, Dromcollogher and Jimmy and Marian Ryan, Ross Line, Dromcollogher and the next draw takes place on this coming night Monday April 21st, in Nunan's Bar, Dromcollogher, with the jackpot going up to €10,900 (win or share) and with the match three staying at €100 (win or share). Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.

Hard Luck

To Our Senior Footballers Management Team led by Ben Noonan and Our Senior Footballers led by Garrett Noonan against Kieran's, in the West Senior Football Quarter Final. We lost to St. Kieran's on a scoreline of 0-13 to 1-09.

Non- Stop Draw

The above club will hold a three month non-stop draw over the months of May, June and July at a cost of €20 per month or one up-front payment of €50. There will be a prize fund of €1,000 per month and all proceeds will go towards the ongoing preparation of our teams and towards the maintenance and upgrading of club facilities. Our draw promoters will be calling to all homes in the parish over the next few weeks and your support for this draw would be very much appreciated.

Membership for the above club €20 playing and non-playing in both adults and Students for this year is now overdue since March 31st, please pay to the relevant Team manager, you are not covered to play unless you have your membership paid in full.
