Ballybrown GAA club notes

April 14, 2014
Ballybrown GAA Club would like to extend our sympathies to the family of the late Mary O Sullivan (sister of Phil O Sullivan) who died on Sat 12 April. May she rest in peace.
As only can be described as a great match we made one of the greatest comebacks ever seen in a 14 match. Playing into a strong wind in the first half we were down two points to no score. At the start of the second half cappamore scored a goal that left us one two to no score down. We battled hard all the way and bit by bit we got the scores and in the final minute we struck the winning goal. It was a great team performance from one to sixteen as we only had one sub. On now to the semi final in Rathkeale time to follow. Well done lads.
Ballybrown i-13 Ahane 0-13 We got back to winning ways with this hard earned three point win against Ahane in Ahane on Tuesday evening. Played in though conditions there was never more than a couple of points between the teams. With the Championship comming up matches like this are vital to our preperations

Ballybrown 4-18 Mungret 1-10 Played in claughaun on Sat 12 April Ballybrown won the semi final of the city senior hurling championship. This was Ballybrowns best performance to date. The half time score was 3-10 to 0-02 points with David Hall scoring 3 goals from play and a sideline cut from Alan O Connor being the main talking points at halftime. Mungret came more into the game in the second half and scored 1-08 but Ballybrown were always in control and contributed 1-08 to the score board themselves. An injury picked up by Stevie O Rielly and another pick up by Richie Kenny against NaPiarsaigh are worrying especially as the first round of the championship is just weeks away
