Limerick GAA delegates have vented their anger over the continued use of a billboard on the Mackey Stand advertising rugby.

Officials from the county board had the wording changed in the signs, but this has no appeased delegates who want the hoardings removed altogether.

Limerick city board chairman Jim Riordan was behind the calls to remove the hoard and he told the executive that the likes wouldn't be seen at other grounds around the country.

"I don't think you would see that in Cusack Park in Ennis or Pairc Ui Chaoimh, Pairc Ui Rinn or Semple Stadium - we are holding the semi finals of the hurling league next Sunday week and we will be a most talked about county the following morning. I don't think they should be up there," the Limerick Leader reports Riordan as stating at this week's county board meeting.

However, Limerick treasurer Donal Morrissey stressed that the hoarding would not be removed.
