Cork tops Munster Council grants list

Cork clubs have received over EUR500,000 in grants from the Munster Council Development Committee. Forty-six clubs throughout the city and county will benefit from the grant aid. Kerry received the second highest allocation of EUR387,649, followed by Clare (EUR300,915), Limerick (EUR229,063), Waterford (EUR218,459) and Tipperary (EUR214,398). In all, the Munster Council allocated EUR2.4 million, bringing their total to EUR9 million in the past five years. The biggest recipients in Cork were Cloughduv, who received EUR39,500 for an indoor hurling wall and other outdoor projects. Castletownroche were next with a grant of EUR37,000 for the erection of a stand and dressing rooms, while city sides Na Piarsaigh were allocated EUR36,000 and EUR35,000 respectively.
