Dromcollogher/Broadford GAA Notes By: Gareth Meaney For Wednesday and Thursday 17th and 18th of December 2008: Results: U21 County Limerick B Hurling Championship Semi-Final Blackrock 1-14 Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-08 This was a very tight game of hurling up until the last ten minutes which Blackrock pulled away from Dromcollogher/ Broadford. Keith Lacey the goalkeeper for Dromcollogher/ Broadford brought off three vital saves in this game. This game was played, over in Newtownshandrum there last Wednesday night, in foggy conditions. Blackrock got the first two points of the game from play and then Aidan Butler replied with a point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford. Black rock pointed their first free of the game and then Derry McCarthy replied with a pointed free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford. Blackrock scored another point from point from play and then Aidan Butler replied with another for Dromcollogher/ Broadford. Blackrock scored the next 1-1 both scores from play to leave the score at half time Blackrock 1-5 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-3. Derry McCarthy scored the first point of the second half from a free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford and then Blackrock replied with two more points and this stage there six points between the sides. Derry McCarthy cut the lead back five points with a pointed free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford and then Blackrock replied with two more pointed frees to put seven points between the sides. Derry McCarthy scored the next two pointed frees for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to cut margin down to 5 points. Derry McCarhty had a free on the half way line and he send the solitar in around the house and end up in the back of the net, but the goal was disallowed afterwards because one of our forwards was in the small square. Paul Madigan cut the margin down to four points with a point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford, at this stage it looked Dromcollogher/ Broadford were going to win the game but just then Blackrock pulled away from Dromcollogher/ Broadford by scoring the next five points of the game. To leave the score at full-time Blackrock 1-14 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-8. Please Support. Hard Luck To the Management Team of our U21 Hurlers lead by Jim Barry and Our U21 Hurlers we lost to Blackrock on a scoreline of 1-14 to 0-8. This game was played over in Newtownshandrum, on Wednesday night last, in very foggy conditions for both sides, in the U21 County Limerick B Hurling Semi-Final. Club Meeting The club Meeting which was meant to be held on last Thursday night was adjourned due a death in the O'Sullivan Family, Kells, Dromcollogher.
