No extra investment in Interpros

GAA President Nicky Brennan
GAA President Nickey Brennan has stressed that Croke Park will not be investing extra funds into the inter-provincial series, having spent over Eu1m on the competition in recent years.
Brennan does feel that the inter-provincial competition will go ahead in 2009, but he is adamant that the GAA will not be pumping large amounts of money into it.
"My gut feeling is that the competition will probably commence, that's the general feedback, but I hope expectations are realistic," he stressed.
"We are not going to invest a large amount of money in it. The biggest problem we have is where exactly we fit them in the calendar.
"Over the last four or five years we have invested over Eu1 million in the inter-provincials. I won't entertain anyone criticising us for not putting a lot of money into it."
