ADRSC / St. Kieran’s GAA Club Oscar’s 2020

Curiosity has been building for a few weeks now about the forthcoming local Oscars fundraising event on November 14th next in the Devon Inn. With this in mind there is going to be an information night on Friday night March the 6th in the hall in Ardagh at 8pm to explain to everyone the process and the plan for this event.

Martin Foran, who we have worked with before on the first lip sync in 2017, will be present to answer any questions on the event that people might have. It would be great if as many people as possible came to this meeting (it won’t take very long!!) and your attendance would be absolutely without any obligation to take part. It would be great if people who aren’t involved in either organization but had an interest in getting involved in the Oscar’s came along. They would be most welcome.

This is a joint ADRSC and St Kieran’s GAA fundraiser. The ADRSC are hoping to help raise funds to develop a much-needed walking path around the community field in Ardagh and St Kieran’s are fundraising for development work on the GAA grounds in Coolcappagh. This information meeting is the start, so hopefully people can come along on March the 6th, to get a better understanding on this exciting upcoming event in 2020.

Munster U20 Football Championship

Best wishes to our senior footballers John Hayes and Liam Kennedy who are members of the Limerick u20 panel who welcome Tipperary to the LIT Gaelic Grounds this evening for the opening round of the Munster Championship. Both sides met at this stage of the championship in 2019 in Thurles when Limerick shocked the home side. The prize on offer for Wednesday’s winner is a home semi-final against Kerry.

Bereavement:

We would like to express our condolences to the Upton family, The Old Mill on the untimely passing of David this past week following illness. David was an active member of St. Kieran’s during his youth up to minor level where he was a tenacious defender in the full back line while his cousins Liam and Michael are current members of our senior and junior football panels. May he rest in peace.
