With fifteen minutes on the clock, Patrickswell led by 1-3 to 0-5. Following this, our neighbours increased their output of points. Three Adare points had to be countered with scores from Jack Kelleher, Paul O'Brien and Jason Gillane. At the 25 minute mark, the 'Well held a narrow 1-6 to 0-8 lead. Paul O'Brien's second goal built a four-point lead, although Adare accumulated five more points in contrast to Patrickswell's late points from Jack Kelleher and Lar Considine. The half-time score was a slender 2-8 to 0-13 cushion for Patrickswell.

Ciaran Carey's men started the second half strongly and were rewarded with points for John Flynn and Lar Considine. To their credit, Adare had a spell of 1-4 while Patrickswell mustered two points from Jack Kelleher. There was 15 minutes to play and Adare held a 1-17 to 2-12 lead. Jack Kelleher increased his personal tally with two points to draw level, but Adare crept another point ahead. The devastating blow was landed by Shane Hannon's goal, followed up by points from Jason Gillane and Paul O'Brien. Patrickswell had claimed a 3-16 to 2-19 victory.

JUNIOR A HURLERS: Patrickswell produced a late recovery to beat Crecora in the City Championship. Crecora scored the opening point of the match, but Cillian O'Reilly replied within minutes. Crecora's second point was followed by a trio of points from Peter Harty (0-2) and Cian Enright. The scoreline was 0-4 to 0-2 after twenty minutes. Crecora drew level after they scored another two points. The game came to life when Cillian O'Reilly struck a 70 yard free that eluded the goalkeeper and trickled into the net. The 'Well were a goal ahead, yet Crecora ended the first half with three consecutive points. At the interval, the match was deadlocked at 1-4 to 0-7.

The second half started in a similar manner. Crecora scored a point and Cillian O'Reilly equalised immediately. However, Crecora had a purple patch and notched four consecutive points to lead by 0-12 to 1-5. Shane Hannon stemmed the tide with a point, but this was immediately countered by our opponents. Cian Enright and Barry Foley trimmed the deficit to two points with only five minutes left. Our unbeaten record in the City Division was in jeopardy.
