Munster Senior Hurling Championship Final:

Limerick senior hurlers look to add the Munster Senior Hurling Championship to their Al Ireland and National League titles this Sunday when they welcome the Premier County, Tipperary to the LIT Gaelic Grounds. When both sides met two weeks ago in Thurles it was the home side who toppled the All Ireland Champions but hopefully this Sunday a full-strength Limerick side can find the same blistering form that saw them overcome Waterford and Clare in the group stages of the championship. Given the success that Limerick have enjoyed over the last twelve months there has been a huge demand for tickets for the game. Unfortunately, demand will exceed supply and given the capacity of the Gaelic Ground’s we will not be in a position to meet the demand.

As the Club's AGM resolved last November, paid up club members and members of the Club Limerick Draw will have priority in ticket allocation for matches. (These are the people whose money keep the club going year in, year out.) Unfortunately, in this situation, we won’t even have enough tickets to satisfy demand for these 2 groups which is very frustrating.

Those who will be getting tickets from the club will be notified this Wednesday morning with details of collection arrangements.

We regret that no one in the club will be getting what they’re looking for so please keep looking for tickets outside of the club and let us know if you’re sorted.

We hope you understand this impossible situation.

Senior Football:

The senior footballers welcome Fr. Casey’s to Coolcappagh this Thursday evening four round 5 of the County Senior Football League where a win would all but guarantee a place in the County League final. We have had a promising County League campaign to date amassing wins over Na Piarsaigh, Rathkeale, Drom/Broadford and Monaleen before losing out in our last game Newcastlewest. Thursday game throws in at 7.30

Minor Hurling:

Following the completion of the State Examinations the minor hurlers are resume their West Championship campaign this Friday evening when the welcome the Croagh/Kilfinny-Rathkeale combination to Coolcappagh for Round 4. In the three rounds prior to the exams the team has been extremely competitive drawing against Templeglantine and Knockaderry/Monagea before losing out to Newcastlewest in a game where we were very competitive until the last quarter. Newcastlewest currently sit top of the group and look to be that step ahead of the other teams but Friday’s game is a great opportunity for the team to register their first win of the campaign. Throw in is at 7.30

Intercounty Activity:

Both Darragh Treacy and Sean McSweeney were part of the Limerick senior football team who travelled to Mullingar on Saturday evening last for round 2 of the Qualifiers. Unfortunately, despite a spirited performance which saw Darragh find the back of the net with a brilliant individual goal through the heart of the defence Limerick bowed out of the championship with a six-point defeat. While 2019 has been a challenging year there is no doubt that progress has been made, despite only two national league wins, Limerick were very competitive in all their games and were unlucky not to close out a number of ties. There hard work was rewarded with a fine victory over Tipperary in the Munster Quarter final before losses to Cork and Westmeath. With the long intercounty football season now behind them we look forward to seeing both Sean and Darragh back in the green and gold as we get in the business end of our senior football campaign.
