Tipperary has revealed that defender Cathal Barrett suffered a 'mild hamstring tear' in Sunday's Munster SHC victory over Limerick.

In a tweet, the Premier County didn't rule out the possibility of the 2016 All-Star featuring in Sunday week's provincial decider against the Treaty County.

After the blow of Patrick 'Bonner' Maher's season ending cruciate ligament injury, Tipp fans will be breathing a sigh of relief at that the news that Barrett isn't facing a prolonged spell on the sidelines.

This evenings scan for Cathal Barrett has confirmed a mild hamstring tear. The injury will be worked on by the Tipp SH medical team and management will monitor his progress over the next ten days
