Rathkeale club notes

Junior B Football

Our Junior B Footballers had two games in the last week and unfortunately they lost out narrowly in both games. Last Thursday, they played near rivals Knockaderry away and lost out on a scoreline of 4-04 to 1-12, it just proves that goals win matches! On Monday evening, they were away to Granagh\Ballingarry. Unfortunately, the hosts proved too strong for us on the night and ran out worthy winners on a scoreline of 2-14 to 2-08. That brings an end to our League campaign and hopefully we can gain momentum when the Championship kicks off.

Intermediate Footballers

Our Intermediate Footballers were in action in the West Senior Football Championship Quarter Final last Wednesday evening. Fr Caseys provided the opposition in a well presented Newcastle West. It was a close encounter throughout with Rathkeale leading at the break on a scoreline of 3-03 to 1-08 with the goals coming from Andrew White (Penalty), Patrick Wilmott and Barry Coleman. Rathkeale went onto kick 1-04 in the second half with Andrew White kicking his second goal of the night to end on a winning score of 4-07 to 2-10. Best of luck to all in the Semi Final.
