Limerick manager John Kiely admits that they will have a strong squad to choose from for Sunday’s Munster SHC clash against Cork at the LIT Gaelic Grounds.

The defending All-Ireland champions begin the defence of their title with a near full strength squad with only Richie McCarthy (cruciate) missing.

Kiely believes that they need to hit the ground running especially against a Cork side seeking a first win, having lost to Tipperary last weekend.

“Tom Condon has a bit of a groin strain but that is all we got and it’s great,” Kiely relayed to the Limerick Leader.

“We are in good shape, we have had a really clear run of things. Hopefully we will come clean through tonight and that’s us out the gap at that stage.

“We have been very fortunate and that is testament to the work that Joe O’Connor [strength & conditioning coach} has done with them off the pitch during the last four years that he has been involved. Their bodies are strong in that respect and we don’t get soft tissue injuries very often. The injury prevention over the last few winters has been very effective.”
