Galbally club notes

October 15, 2018

The Galbally Intermediate Footballers reached the County Final on Wednesday night last after a gruelling and hard fought contest in tough weather conditions against Pallasgreen, winning out by 1-5 to 0-6. The game was hugely defensive, with huge credit due to both defences who were extremely disciplined, giving away very few frees within scoring range.

The team was: Ger Ryan, Tom Davern, Tony Henebry, Frank Cussen, Mark Quinlan, Liam Casey, Eoin Halligan (0-1), James Ryan, Dave Cussen, Mike Donovan (1-1), James Cummins, Jamie Morrissey, Ger Quinlan, Kieran Hickey, Gary McCarthy (0-3). Subs: John Kearns for Ger Quinlan, Jacko Mullane for Morrissey, Jack Donovan for Hickey, Cathal Shanahan for Dave Cussen. Other subs: Kevin Denihan, Eoin Bourke, Johnny McCarthy, Nathan O’Byrne, Michael O’Dwyer, Jonathan Scully, Patrick O’Donnell, Roibeard Donovan, Sean Kearney, Dylan O’Shea, Joseph Johnson. The County Intermediate Football Final against Rathkeale has been rescheduled to Tuesday night 23rd October at 7.30pm in the Gaelic Grounds.
