West Junior B Football Championship Semi-Final

This was a very tight game played down in Feenagh and last Friday night, with the two goals for St. Kieran’s both coming in the second half of the game both from penalties to leave six points between the sides at end of the game and to put us into the final against Granagh/ Ballingarry, in Quaid Park (Colyrue), more details later.

 

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first five points of the game and with three of these coming from Ben Noonan and the other points came John O’Kelly and Brian Noonan and then St. Kieran’s scored the next two points to leave three points between the sides.  Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point just before the break coming from John O’Kelly to leave four points between the sides at end of the half.  To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-6 to St. Kieran’s 0-2.

 

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first four points of the second half with two of these coming Micheál Reidy and the other points coming from Niall O’Brien and John O’Kelly to leave eight points between the sides and then St. Kieran’s scored the next point of the game to leave seven points between the sides.  Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the four points of the game to lead by 11 points and these points came from Bob Boyce, Eoin Barry, Micheál Reidy and Jason Stokes and then St. Kieran’s scored the goal of the game coming from penalty with 52 minutes gone in the game to leave eight points between the sides.  St. Kieran’s scored the next 1-1 of the game another goal from a penalty with 61 minutes gone the game to leave 4 points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the last two points of the game and these points came from Micheál Reidy and Bob Boyce to give us victory by six points and to book our back into the West Final once again for the third year in a row in last year’s we defeated Knockaderry and in 2016 we lost to Granagh/ Ballingarry. To leave the score at full-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-16 to St. Kieran’s 2-04.

This was a very tight game played down in Kilmallock, on last Saturday night with the our game coming from Ray Lynch and the nine points for Dromcollogher/ Broadford came from Derry McCarthy and the other points came from Micheál Brosnan two points and Garrett Noonan a point and the goal for Monaleen came from Dan power and the table finished as follows Adare 10 points, Ballylanders 7 Points, Monaleen and St. Senan’s both on 5 points, Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2 points and Na Pairsaigh a point.  The above club would like to thank both sets of management teams, the first set of Mike Quaid, Tom McGarry, Eoin Barry and Tony O’Brien for first four games and the last game we had new management team of Eoin Barry, Liam McGraynor and Séan Buckley and the backroom team for all games were Jim Barry and Garry Noonan and also the panel of players led by Kevin Noonan captain.

 

Monaleen scored the first two points of the game and these points came from Brian Clarson and Shane Cusack and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next four points with three of these coming from Derry McCarthy and the other point coming from Micheál Brosnan to lead by two points. Monaleen scored the next six points with three of these points coming from Brian Clarson and the other points came from Evan Quilan, Dan Enright and Brian Donovan to lead four points at the break.  To leave the score at half-time Monaleen 0-8 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-4.

 

 

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first two points of the second half and Derry McCarthy scored both and then Monaleen scored the next two points coming from Brian Donovan and Dan Enright to put four points between the sides once again.  Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored a goal coming from Ray Lynch to leave a point between the sides with 44 minutes gone in the game and then Monaleen replied with next two points both coming from Evan Quilan to three points between the sides.  Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points and these points came Derry McCarthy and Micheál Brosnan to leave a point between the sides.  Monaleen scored the three points to leave four points between the sides and these points came from Conor McManus, Brian Carlson and Evan Quilan.  Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored another point to leave three points between the sides and then Monaleen scored the next goal of the game from Dan Power to six points between the sides with 57 minutes gone in the game.  Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the last three points of the game and two of these came Derry McCarthy both from frees and the other point came from Garrett Noonan for a 45m to leave three points between the sides at end of the game.  To the leave the score at full-time Monaleen 1-15 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-12.

U13 Notes

 

On Sunday last we travelled to South Liberties pitch to play Hospital/ Herbertstown in the All County Division 3 League Final.  After an entertain first half we found ourselves down by 2-02 to 0-4 at half-time.  However, a few quick scores from Shane Wright goal and Tommy Ryan, Ronan O’Sullivan, Robbie Lynch, Brian O’Callaghan and Aaron Leahy all scored points we totally out played the opposition to bring home the cup on a scoreline of 4-11 to 3-3.  Well done to our young team many are underage again next year.  Congratulations to them all and their coaches who worked tirelessly all season.

 

 

U14 Notes

 

On Monday night our U14 Footballers qualified for the Division 2 Shield Semi-Final with a well-deserved win over Cappagh/ Rathkeale on a scoreline of 5-6 to 1-6.  A great week on the field

 

U10 Notes  

On Saturday morning last our hurlers travelled Martinstown for the county blitz  
We had to play three games against Monagea, Staker Wallace and Kilacola Gaels.  These were very close games with all the boys putting in some great performances.  We as coaches tried to be as fair as we can to every player in giving them plenty game time 
The boys can be very proud of themselves with their performances on Saturday.  Well done to all the boys on the day and to all the supporters who travelled on the day.

To our Junior B Footballers management team led by Micheál Brosnan and our Junior B Footballers led by Kevin McGill captain against St. Kieran’s, we defeated St. Kieran’s on a scoreline of 0-16 to 2-04, in West Junior B Football Championship Semi-Final.

 

To our U13 Hurlers management team and our U13 Hurlers against Hospital/ Hertbertstown, we defeated Hospital/ Herbertstown on a scoreline of 4-11 to 3-03, in the U13 All County Hurling League Division 3 Final.

To our Senior Footballers management team led by Eoin Barry and our Senior Footballers led by Kevin Noonan captain against Monaleen, we lost to Monaleen on a scoreline of 1-15 to 1-12, in the County Senior Football Championship Group 1 Round 5.

Results of the 308th draw took place on Monday September 17th, in Nunan’s Bar, Dromcollogher and the numbers drawn were: 9, 17, 18, 31 there was no winner of the jackpot at €1,400 and there was two winners of match three at €100 (€50 each) and they were: Gareth Meaney and Bridie Noonan and the two lucky dips of €50 each and they were: Ann Madigan, Broadford and Kieran Ryan, Dromcollogher and the next draw will take place in Begley’s Bar, Broadford, on this coming Monday night September 24th and the Jackpot is going up to €1,500 and the match three is staying at €100.  Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.
