Limerick manager John Kiely has revealed that they are just focusing on themselves ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland SHC quarterfinal against Kilkenny.

The Shannonsiders booked their place in the quarterfinal thanks to a facile win over Carlow last weekend, but the real work for this weekend's clash has been going on for months.

Kiely explained to the Limerick Leader that they have been working towards this game for some time now and that once they produce a performance, they feel they can match any side in the country.

"To be honest, it's not so much about the opposition or who they are or what stage of the competition it is in - it's about themselves. We have got to get our performance right - we have got to be as well prepared as possible and if our performance isn't good enough then it doesn't matter who we are playing, we won't win," said Kiely.

He added: "It's a knockout quarterfinal and it's case of making sure we deliver the best performance we can. It's an All-Ireland quarterfinal, no bigger, no smaller."
