Galbally club notes

June 18, 2018

In 1980, the Limerick Under 21 team shocked Kerry in Askeaton beating them by 2-5 to 1-7 in the Munster Under 21 Football Championship. Timmy Cummins started that game in his customary right corner forward position at intercounty level and the injured John Scully was part of the squad, having started at wing back in the previous round against Tipperary. Fast forward 38 years to last Friday night in Newcastlewest and their respective nephews were involved against Kerry in the new Under 20 Munster Football Championship. James Cummins entered the game as a half time substitute and Nathan Byrnes was on the bench. Unfortunately on this occasion, the result was not favourable and Galbally GAA would like to commend James and Nathan on their commitment to the Limerick squad since training commenced.

Well done to the Limerick minor hurlers on reaching the Munster Minor Final and to all Galbally representatives involved in both the minor and senior game below in Ennis.
