Caherline Club Notes

April 23, 2018

GAA LOTTO: No winner, numbers drawn were 1, 3, 26, 29. Lucky dip winners - Maggie Lyons, Kathleen Foley, Fiona Williams, Angela Higgins & Joan Lenihan. Next weeks jackpot will be €4,200 and the draw will be held on Friday night in Uncle Toms Bar.

U-16 HURLING: In the first round of this years U-16 hurling championship, Caherline traveled back west to Templeglantine on Monday April 16th, a difficult place to go and get a result. But the lads did just that, coming away with a 6 point win - final score Templeglantine 1-02 Caherline 1-08. Super win on the road, well done to all involved. The lads are down to play away to St. Kieran's on Monday April 30th at 6:30pm, this will be confirmed closer to the date.

U-12 HURLING: U-12 hurling, Caherline 6-11 South Liberties 0-6. Caherline U-12's gave an outstanding display on Thursday evening last; we had 21 players togged out, all of whom played their part. The game was fast and skillful and the lads were just that bit better at finishing and lead 3-4 to 0-02 at half-time. The second half was even an improvement on the first, scoring a further 3-7 to 0-04 to leave an impressive score line of 6-11 to 0-6. Well done and it was great to see a following on the fine evening!

U-8 HURLING: Well done to all of our U-8's, who played Cappamore on April 19th in a blitz in Bilboa. It was a great turnout for their 1st night out this year, with great skill on show from all the players. Well done boys & girls.

HURLING FIXTURES: Our Minors are scheduled to kick off this years Championship on Friday next, April 27th, with a home game against Pallasgreen at 6:45pm. Our Junior A team are out on Sunday night, April 29th against Murroe-Boher in Boher at 6:45pm.

CON & ANNIE KIRBY MEMORIAL STAKE: Limerick Greyhound Stadium was as full as we've ever seen it on Saturday night last, where Caherline were represented in the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial Stake Final. Unfortunately, we didn't get the result we wanted with Blue East, but we still came home with €1000. It was great to be part of the event over the last number of weeks and we would also like to thank the McManus family for their generous sponsorship & support.

GAA CUL CAMP: Kellogg's GAA Cúl Camp returns to Caherline on Monday July 2nd to July 6th. To book a place, please go to www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie.
