Building momentum is a focus point for Limerick hurlers, according to their manager John Kiely.

Three wins from three starts sees them top the NHL Division 1B table alongside Galway and they will be favourites to make that four wins when they take on Antrim this weekend.

The Shannonsiders must do so without their UL contingent who are in Fitzgibbon Cup action, but Kiely told the Limerick Leader that they are happy with their progress so far.

"We are building a good head of steam and a block of momentum and everybody within the group senses that there is something that bit different about this year," stated Kiely.

The manner of their win over Dublin has made many pundits take even more notice of Limerick this year as they keep their promotion hopes alive.

"There is a great energy within the group and the fact that they didn't come back too early meant the boys had a real break in the Autumn and they are fresh.

"I think we learned an awful lot from last year as a group and made a few changes to the way we were going about our business as a management team as well - there is a lot more clarity within the group as to what everyone is supposed to be doing."
