ADRSC Lip Sync Battle:

Ardagh District Recreational & Sporting company held their Lip Sync battle fundraiser in aid of the new Astroturf facility on Friday and Saturday evening last in the Devon Inn Hotel, Templeglantine and it goes without saying that two excellent nights of entertainment were had. Huge credit must go not only to the organising committee for putting together such an outstanding event but equally to all those who participated in the event. There was an array of talent on show and it was very evident that each of the participants went to great lengths in their preparation to ensure that both nights were a success and the crowd went home happy. Both nights were extremely well supported not only from those within the parish, but it was also great to see so many people from places further afield in attendance on both evenings. Were it not for the level of hard work and dedication from both the organising committee and the willing participants both nights could not have been as successful, furthermore the level of support from those in attendance was extremely encouraging. The new Astroturf facility will hopefully be a huge asset to the community with all sporting organisations benefiting from it in the not so distant future and we would encourage you all to continue your support for the project. From all within St. Kieran's GAA club we would like to congratulate all those who made the night such a success, the level of community spirit exhibited on both nights was truly a sight to behold. Onwards and upwards into the future.

West U21 Football Championship Semi- final:

The u21 footballers face off against Granagh/Ballingarry this Saturday afternoon in a repeat of the 2016 west u21 'B' championship final. Hopefully the lads can make amends from last season's encounter and book a place in the west final for 2017. Saturday's game will no doubt once again be a close encounter as Granagh/Ballingarry are not only the reigning west champions, but they also won the west minor 'B' football championship with this group of players in 2014. The Kieran's team will be backboned by a number of members of our senior football panel as well as many of the players whom tasted county championship success in 2016 and 2017 at minor level. In the second semi-final St. Senan's meet Drom/Broadford. St. Senan's will no doubt be brimming with confidence at present having won the county intermediate football championship and are currently in preparation for the Munster Intermediate club football championship final against Kerry champions An Gaeltacht while Drom/Broadford possess a number of players that won the West Junior 'B' football championship this year and narrowly lost out the county semi-final. Saturday's game throws in at 3pm in the Bog Garden, Rathkeale. Your support is greatly appreciated.
