Would recent former panellists be good enough?

(Oldest Posts First)

Simple question, hopefully it will generate a bit of discussion: Of all the former senior panellists of the past 5 years who have left for one reason or another (re-location, emigration, not picked/fell out of favour under a previous manager, etc), are there any who would still make today's team?

@hudhastings should be good competition in kiltubrid this year between your self and your second nomination

No doubt a highest scorer competition after their success against Mary's last weekend goal of the year so far scored from play

You'll have to train hard to catch up indeed second place normally doesn't collect medals!!!

I think jimmys days on the field have come to an end height wasn't favourable for reffing games from midfield

i dunno 94,you looked like you were in the square (on the goalline) for your "goal of the year" on saturday, only time you touched the ball aswel i believe

I wasnt even at the game SLM

But I do believe the goal in question was the only kiltubrid goal from play and the only score from the full forward line on the day

I also believe the player in question made Many touches and was wearing 13 as usual not to be mixed up with 15 who didn't actually get a touch throughout the game

Then again corner forwards are ment to play deep and win ball to set up scores along with scoring

Standing in the corner never won anyone a game!

i was at the game,i can tell ya for fact the "goalscorer" in question never touched the ball before or after the goal
the rest of the forward line did all the donkey work, and the goalscorer was then subbed off early in 2nd half...may have had 13 on his back but shouldve had 94 me thinks

Im just laying pipes here for ward and Burke with rhe greatest footballer never to win an allireland medal former mayo captain ciaran McDonald

And all I can tell you from the game in question is a goal was scored by the only scoring forward in the fullforward line and the only farmers son in the fullforward line so I think that would explain in great depth the donkeywork in comparison to say a civil servant

Did you score slm? As I said I wasn't at they game I was otherwise occupied at a county fixture

@unigaa Robert Lowe is the man for number 14

disagree 94

lowe is good as part of a 2 man inside line as was shown last year in gaelic park

we need the powerhouse option as well at some stage

If you want power and strength like mossy then the only other option is Declan Maxwell

Always was a serious man to win ball for club and county and has the power to turn a full back with his weak side and score

Is there anyone who has moved out of the county who should be enticed back with a job to get them playing for Leitrim again?

Brian Mulvey from Allen Gaels is a big strong lad with a good pair of hands, could make a no 14 in the absence of Mossy, does anyone
know if he attended the trials

I wouldnt look too much into the number 1 spot. Villatown

Lyons had a super championship and was county keeper for years alongside Noel gill and cathal McCrann

Farrelly is only young and has the makings of a good netwatcher

Id say Lyons was brought in for experience reasons and nothing less and probably to be a mentor to McCrann and Farrelly aswell as an option if either is injured

With the amount of injuries popping up its no harm to have 4 or 5 options for each position

As Hagan said himself the panel is open to options

If we want division 3 next year we want talent let it be early or late to arrive
