Division I League

Our senior team continued their good form with another impressive win in the Dunne's Bar Division I League.

A 3:15 to 1:9 victory over Aughnasheelin followed our opening league victory over Fenagh last week, and with the impressive scoring over the two games leaves the lads sitting at the top of the division table.

The lads started the game in impressive form in front of a large crowd of supporters

With Dean McGovern opening the scoring with a quick point after less than 2 mins before Mark McGrory on 4 mins added a fine goal after a run through the middle of the Aughnasheelin defence.

Ballinamore dominated the early proceedings and were leading 1:7 to 0:3 on the stroke of half time with scores coming from Niall (2), Luke (1), Dean (2) and Shane Moran (1) when Aughnasheelin added a goal of their own to leave the half time score 1:7 to 1:3

Ballinamore started the second half as they started the first with a quick point from the impressive Luke who added two further points in succession to leave the scores at 1:10 to 1:3. Ballinamore continued to dominate with Niall adding a goal of his own. Shane Moran and Luke Murphy added a further couple of points either side of a couple of Aughnasheelin points to leave the game on 2:12 to 1:5, in fairness to Aughnasheelin they did rally and added three unanswered points after this before Luke again added a point and then a fine goal by Wayne sealed the win

Wayne McKeon (1-0) , Mark McGrory (1-0), Dean McGovern (0-2), Shane Moran (0-2), Luke Murphy (0-7), Niall McGovern (1-3). Shane Murphy (0-1)

Well done to the division 2 lads who had an impressive win at the weekend, they defeated Manorhamiliton by a score of 3:11 to 0:7

It was also a good weekend for the u17 who won on Monday night against Fenagh ny a score of 2:13 to 1:12

Best wishes

Everyone at the club would like to wish John Turbitt a speedy recovery

Oughteragh Gaels

Oughteragh Gaels 6-13 - Drumkeeran 3-8

Congratulations to our ladies who made it three wins from three games in the Division 2 league with a 14 point win over a gallant Drumkeeran side on Friday morning, securing their place in the semi-finals. It was a tough game, as it was always going to be, and we were only 2-7 to 2-2 up at half time despite dominating long periods of the first spell. In the second half, however, we took over and added another 4-6 to the scoreboard to their 1-6.

Standout performers included midfielder Laura O'Dowd who scored no less than 8 points from play, whilst Ciara O'Dowd & Mary McWeeney both had personal tallies of 2-1. Aoibhin McGoldrick had an excellent game coming in off the bench, whilst so too did Megan Cull, who scored our final goal with a beautiful finish from 14 yards. Well done to all of the team and roll on the rest of the football year!
