Ballinamore club notes
January 10, 2017The Club are holding our annual dinner dance in the Landmark Hotel on Saturday February 18th. The victorious Intermediate and Minor championship teams will be presented with their championship medals on the night and we have Music provided by the excellent Dopplezimmers. Irish Language Conversation Classes
Ciorcal Comhrá, or Irish language conversation are currently on in Ballinamore Library on Tuesday nights at 8.00pm.
The Ciorcal is run in a very enjoyable manner and is attended by adults and also by some Leaving Cert students for whom the practice is good for their Irish orals. Those attending are divided into separate groups starting with people with very basic knowledge of Irish to those with a reasonable amount of the language and those who are more advanced.
The Ciorcal Comhrá starts Tuesday 10 January in Ballinamore Library at 8.00pm. Admission is free. Beidh Fáilte romhat.
Scor na nÓg table quiz
The Scor na nÓg table quiz took place on Sunday evening in Drumshanbo and Ballinamore Sean OHeslins were represent with three teams . The following teams put in a great effort with little time to prepare. Special thanks to Bríd and Alex O'Sulliabhain who put these teams together at short notice and also thanks to Marie Sweeney, James Maguire and Celia Prior who helped with transport on the night.
We off course must thank the following participants who put up an excellent show on the night :
Tom Prior, Dillon Beirne, Joe Sweeney and Colin Smyth team A. Bernard Sweeney, Danny O Brien, Eoin Hamill and Fiachra McGrath, team B and James Og and Killian Maguire, Eoin Connaughton and Brian Sweeney team C. The winners on the night were Fenagh and it was well deserved. We wish them the best of luck in the all Ireland in Belfast on February the 11th. Two of our teams will still be eligible to take part next year.
