Leitrim chairman Terence Boyle has asked everyone in the county to row in behind new manager Brendan Guckian.

The St Mary's, Kiltoghert clubman was appointed last week and has included John O'Mahony, Seamus Quinn and Michael Moyles in his backroom team.

"It was a tight vote, it worked out 60/40 in favour. I hope everyone supports the democratic decision because I do believe there is a huge appetite for Leitrim football," Boyle told The Leitrim Observer.

"The main aim is to get promotion. There are no quick solutions but the aim is to get out of Division Four in the next couple of years and to use that to push for a good run in the championship. We will be taking the league very seriously."
