Costello steps down

August 19, 2016

Leitrim Ladies are on the look out for a new manager after Pat Costello stepped down from the position.

Following their All-Ireland IFC quarterfinal defeat to Kildare at the weekend, Costello decided to call time on his term.

Costello criticised the Ladies county board for their lack of support and cited this as one of the reasons for his decision.

"The support from the county board was very poor. There was a lack of respect for what we were trying to do," Costello told the Leitrim Observer.

"There is a lack of support to strive in the same way the management were thinking. Since the Connacht final, there has been no contact from the County Board except to hand in a team sheet. No contact, no care."
