Seniors great performance against Allen Gaels

 

Our seniors turned in their best performance of the League so far against Allen Gaels, a team that were above them in the table up to Saturday. Indeed Allen Gaels had lost only one of their games until then. The team played well from the start and were four points up before Allen Gaels got their first point. Two further points followed and then Wayne McKeon took a line ball from 45 metres out and it was somehow fumbled by the goalie and went into the net. Wayne got another point and then Dean McGovern finished a great move to the net. Luke Murphy pointed and this was followed by an outstanding point from far out by Wayne McKeon. David Duignan, from the half-back line, got his second point of the half and we led at half time by 2-10 to 0-4. We got a further eight points in the second half, with subs James and Shane McWeeney getting three and two points respectively. It ended 2-18 to 1-6. Our Division 2 team put up a great performance against Drumkeerin on Sunday morning. Drumkeerin are currently in second place in Division 2. The final score was 1-12 to 1-7.
