Division 1 league

Our good run in the league ended on Saturday when the lads took on the current County Champions Mohill in Philly McGuiness Park, it was a low scoring first half with Mohill just shading it at the interval, going in ahead by a single point. Mohill pushed on in the second half adding 10 scores including one goal to the 5 scores, all points that we were able to add. The match ended with Mohill in the ascendancy and the winners on the day. This was a good litmus test for the lads and one they did not shy away from. There has been some very good improvements in our overall play and despite the result there is a solid foundation to build on during the rest of the league campaign.

Ag an deireadh, 1-14 to 0-09 in favour of Mohill

Oughteragh Ladies -

The Oughteragh Ladies had a great 5-18 to 5-8 win over Fenagh in a challenge game at the weekend, particularly impressing in the first half to lead 2-11 to 1-5 at the break. There was a spirited fightback from the opposition in the second period but despite a few nervy moments, the ladies pulled clear inside the final ten minutes. Standout performers included Laura O'Dowd and Emma McGovern in the middle of the field, with the pair responsible for a grand total of 2-13, whilst sisters Aoibheann and Leighanne Flynn, along with Ciara O'Dowd and Nheaca Smyth, also contributed some fine scores. It was a promising display from a very young team as they build towards challenging for the Division 2 league title.
