Leitrim football great Packy McGarty will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 2015 Leitrim Sports Star Awards.

The awards, which are organised by the Leitrim Sports Partnership, will take place on Saturday, November 28th in the Lough Rynn Castle Hotel, with outsstanding athletes from gaelic football, athletics, weight lifting, cycling, boxing, swimming, hurling, golf and ultra-running recognised.

McGarty - the sole Leitrim representative on the Connacht Team of the Millennium - is widely regarded as one of the finest footballers never to have won an All-Ireland. His intercounty career spanned four decades and he starred in four successive Connacht SFC finals between 1958 and '61
